Laughter Effects Comedy Show
Laughter Effects presents Laugh Sanctuary, a premium standup comedy show, currently once a month in the cozy, comfortable lower level Community Room of the First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church at 425 Congress St in Portland Maine. First Parish UU, like all UU churches, is known for its extremely open minded approach to humanity and expression,and its diverse cultural and public events.
We set up the downstairs Community Room with seating, lighting and ambience to create a premium standup comedy experience, more focused even than a standard comedy club.
We comb through the comedy scene in Boston, New York and other cities and towns to find standup comedy headliners who are smart, creative, original, likable, and funny. And then we do whatever’s needed to get them up to Maine!
We also find and bring up an excellent feature act, the comedian who does a medium-long set before the headliner. Some of the finest Maine/Portland area comedians appear doing short guest sets, as well. Refreshments are available in the showroom.
Laughter Effects is running a comedy show with No Cover at the very unique and creatively offbeat yet sleekly designed Core Cannabis Museum in the heart of downtown Portland Maine.
At this new museum dedicated to the social and political history of cannabis in the US, we present the finest local/regional comedians in a more casual show, twice a month. Beverages are available for sale in the Museum.
